What to do this weekend with your family? Here is a list of things you can enjoy with your family this weekend. Please call ahead before leaving your house to ensure the venue is still hosting the event. Due to the new COVID guidelines, many venues have had to cut back on the number of visitors they can allow.



Park Ranger John Conlow will present Ranger Techs at Springton Manor Farm meeting at the Carriage House and hiking to the Great Barn and beyond. This program will offer school-age children "ranger training". A focus on Springtime on the farm. The hike will include easy to moderate terrain with the possibility of snow and ice. Dress for the weather and proper footwear is suggested. 



The Museum will be open for members only during our first two weekends: April 8-11 and April 15-18. New memberships are available for those who wish to come to the Museum during our first two weekends!  Reservations Required


Drop in during spring break week and make your way to Enchanted Woods, a fairy-tale magical landscape for playful music, crafts, and games. Included with admission. Free for Winterthur and DMNH members.


Travel back in time 66 million years ago and journey to an age when dinosaurs roamed the Earth. Encounter 24 life-size creatures, learn about these prehistoric giants, the rise of humans, and our impact on wildlife and the planet!  Timed tickets are required.

Each year, we bring together diverse volunteers from the community, including individuals, families, scout troops, and youth groups, to work on projects that improve wildlife habitat, protect important natural resources, and preserve the park’s plant and animal communities. Past projects have included planting trees, installing bird boxes, and stream cleanups.

Elmo's Eggstravaganza

Don’t miss Elmo’s Eggstravaganza – our exciting Easter Celebration on select dates from March 27 – April 18! Guests can safely visit Sesame Place for a hoppin’ good time with rides, shows, surprise mini parades, and special Easter fun with everyone’s favorite furry friends.




On Friday, Feb. 12, and running through December 2021, Parking Lot Theaters will be hosting popular movies at Exton Square Mall, Exton. In addition to viewing these movies from the comfort of your car, customers can order and enjoy many movie theater amenities such as popcorn, candy, and some hot food choices.


Pay What You Wish at the Philadelphia Museum of Art

Guests to the Philadelphia Museum of Art can pay what they wish for admission every Friday evening and the first Sunday of the month. Reservations are required.


Virtual Event

Music with Miss Jill is an interactive music program for toddlers through Kindergarten. Weekly activities consist of songs, fingerplays, puppets, props, and musical games. Each week is theme-oriented.
Please register with an email address attached to a Zoom account. Zoom invitations will be sent out 24 hours in advance.

The result is a bit of rampaging craziness and the ultimate in clowning around. Cirkus combines a lively variety show format with lovable characters for half an hour of fun. Ghost Tours of West Chester


The Ghost Tours of West Chester start at The Lincoln Room, 28 West Market Street at Wilmont Mews. It is located in one of West Chester's most historic buildings, dating from 1833. The room retains its original molded tin ceiling and bead board walls. Abraham Lincoln had his first biography written there. It is said to be haunted by the ghost of a horse thief hanged across the street.

Your guide, dressed as a gentleman from the 1850's, will lead you on a 90-minute walk through the spooky lanes of downtown neighborhoods where you will explore the place of the shadow people, learn of lost souls of the underground railroad, and stand where the gallows once stood and murderers were hanged. New stories of phantoms, apparitions and witches are added. This event is perfect for the entire family.

Tours are every Friday and Saturday night in October. They begin at 8:00 pm and doors open at 7:00 pm rain or shine. Enjoy a casual dinner is the Courtyard; call for information. Wear comfortable walking shoes and dress for the weather.

The 8th Annual West Chester Rotary Chili Cook-Off

will be in downtown West Chester

from noon to 3pm on Sunday, October 10th.

Chili fans will be in chili heaven as they sample and vote on their favorite recipes through out the afternoon. Count on the chili being tasty and the competition sizzling!

A whopping 60 competitive Chili teams are ready to show that they indeed make the best darn chili in Chester County.


For the lil’ buckaroos in the family the YMCA’s Kiddie Korral will be back to entertain children with a moon bounce, face painting and games on Church Street.

Downingtown Friends Meeting will hold its annual Friends Fall Festival on October 9th from 9:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. on the historic grounds of Downingtown Friends Meeting. Families have gathered here for over 30 years to enjoy the music, delicious foods, a variety of activities for children, and plant, craft, and white-elephant sales. It’s simply an enjoyable day for families to participate in activities aimed at fun for everyone–and all practically in your own back yard.

As one of the largest fall festivals in the region, our Friends Fall Festival offers families a day of wholesome fun and value. A special supervised area includes children’s crafts and games. There’s also a hay wagon ride and exceptional face painting for both kids and adults.

Chester County Restaurant Festival

Chester County Restaurant Festival

The 31st Annual Chester County Restaurant Festival will be held on September 19th (rain date September 26th), from Noon until 5:30 pm. You’re invited to this event is totally free to attend.

The Chester County Culinary Challenge is back by popular demand. Four chefs will compete to win the title of the best chef in Chester County. They will cook an appetizer, entrée and dessert.

More than 50 restaurants are participating, with nearly 110 arts & crafts vendors and information booths, three stage areas for live music and the “Church Street Café,” where patrons can sit and relax with a pint of refreshing brew.

All restaurant booths will be on Gay Street between Matlack Street and Darlington Street. Vendors will be on High Street from Market Street to Chestnut Street.

Parking in all Borough of West Chester garages is $3.00 for all day
