What To Do With The Kids on Presidents Day

A list of best things to do in and Around Chester County on Presidents Day

Here is a list of things you can enjoy with your family this Presidents Day. There is so much to do for families and kids, especially now that most venues are open and happy to welcome you back.

The National Constitution Center will celebrate Presidents Day with a variety of in-person and virtual events, as well as resources exploring Article II of the Constitution, the role of the executive branch, and the individuals who have held the office of president throughout American history.

Observe Presidents Day Weekend onsite and online with family-friendly tours, talks, crafts, and more exploring the nation’s first president, George Washington, and the diverse range of people he would have interacted with. Don’t miss the Museum’s special exhibition When Women Lost the Vote: A Revolutionary Story, 1776-1807, which explores the stories of the nation’s first women voters, now available online as a virtual exhibit and on view at the Museum through April 25.

Linvilla Orchard’s Fore! The Planet is a highly interactive and playful museum exhibit created by the Academy of Natural Sciences in Philadelphia! This exhibition pairs important environmental issues with the fun of miniature golf.

18 unique educational holes explore butterfly metamorphosis, a tropical rain forest, evolution, dinosaur extinction, food chains, and more. Perfect for kids of all ages, your entire family will enjoy playing miniature golf while learning about our environment – every step of the way!

As Philadelphia’s newest science museum, it showcases one of the most diverse living arthropod collections in the United States. With two floors of new museum exhibits, a 7,000 square foot tropical butterfly pavilion, and Next Generation aligned educational programming, they offer a unique and interactive experience for all to enjoy.

We’re very excited to bring an outdoor ice skating rink to Delaware County! For our first year, you can expect fun for the whole family including ice skating sessions, lounge area, heated tent, and great food and beverages.

This groundbreaking exhibition will celebrate the iconic moments, characters, settings, and beasts as seen in the films and stories of Harry Potter and the Wizarding World using best-in-class immersive design and technology. From the mysteries of Hogwarts™ castle to the antics of its mischievous yet brilliant students; from daring duels to dragons and Dark Arts; from glittering Gringotts™ to the magnificent Ministry of Magic - the exhibition will bring magic to life, connect visitors with the larger global community of fans of the Wizarding World, and reveal the artistry and craftsmanship behind the blockbuster films.

Visitors will get an up-close look at authentic props and original costumes from the Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts™ films as they engage with innovative, awe-inspiring, and magical environments and installations in this: the most comprehensive touring exhibition ever presented about the Wizarding World.

Chilly Philly Mini Golf transforms Center City’s the only miniature golf course for socially-distanced winter fun. The perfect outdoor outing for families, date night, and holiday fun. The course is filled with lights, holiday music, and larger-than-life wintertime friends. The 18-hole game features reproductions of Philadelphia icons and landmarks, including The Liberty Bell, The Rocky Steps, and the Ben Franklin Bridge.

This winter, experience a warm, colorful oasis in our grand Conservatory. Vibrant Streptocarpus ‘Concord Blue’ baskets float above, pink and purple Saintpaulia (African-violets) delight, and tall Clerodendrum schmidtii (chains-of-glory) stun. From beds of coral Cymbidium to a dedicated area showcasing highlights from our vast collection, find hundreds of orchids in spectacular bloom. What’s more, with the January return of performances to our Conservatory, experience an extraordinary lineup of artists from audience favorites to new talent, all bringing a world of music to the ever-changing beauty of our Conservatory.

Outside, stroll 400 acres of winter’s beauty. Although subdued colors reign, the occasional burst of bright yellow and orange of blooming witch-hazel dots the landscape, while winter grasses add a textural element.

Blue Cross RiverRink Winterfest

From ice skating to amusements, to plenty of takeout and outdoor dining options.  Blue Cross Riverrink Winterfest is the perfect destination for winter adventuring.  Reserve your ice skating tickets in advance today.

Don't forget to also reserve a cozy outdoor cabin or a firepit for post skating hangouts.

Urban Air Trampoline and Adventure Park have adventures behind every corner. They are the ultimate indoor playground for your entire family. Take your kids’ birthday party to the next level or spend a day of fun with the family, and you’ll see why we’re more than just a trampoline park.
