A list of the best things to do in Chester County

   this  weekend

 April 17th, 18th & 19th

What to do this weekend with your family? There is a wealth of activities available for families and kids. We invite you to explore our events calendar, featuring a range of family-friendly activities and events to enjoy throughout the week, including weekends. We continually update our events calendar, so there's always something new and exciting to do!

Join us as we dig into history with archaeological excavations at Newlin Grist Mill and learn more about the site through the evidence under our feet! Free and open to all ages (children must be accompanied by an adult). No reservations are required. If you would like to help out with the dig, be sure to wear clothes that can get dirty and close-toed footwear. Bring work gloves if you have them; the site has a limited number of pairs to lend. For safety, hands-on participation is limited to those ages 5+.

Spot plants, animals and more to fill your bingo card! Oakbourne Park Little Tykes Go on Hikes is a series of themed, family-friendly outdoor adventures designed for children ages 3 to 8. Each guided hike combines exploration, education, and fun, encouraging young adventurers to discover nature through interactive activities, storytelling, and hands-on experiences. Trails are easy, engaging, and perfect for families to enjoy together.

Join the YMCA of Greater Brandywine for Healthy Kids Day celebrations at all locations. This free, annual event features a variety of family-friendly activities designed to encourage healthy kids, healthy families and a strong start to the summer season.
Enjoy games, activities and opportunities to explore all the Y has to offer—plus special giveaways and limited-time promotions available during the event to help your family enjoy a happier, healthier and more connected summer, together.

Salt Performing Arts presents Tarzan

Swing into adventure with Tarzan, a high-energy Broadway spectacle that brings the jungle to life with breathtaking aerial choreography, heart-pounding music, and a powerful story about finding where you belong.
Follow Tarzan’s unforgettable journey from curious child to courageous hero as he discovers love, family, and the strength to embrace who he truly is. With stunning visuals, soaring songs, and nonstop excitement, this is a theatrical experience that will leave audiences of all ages on the edge of their seats—and cheering for more!

Discover the sights, sounds, and scents of the season with a fun, 30-minute nature walk designed for the whole family.

Explore nature near and far with tools like magnifying glasses and binoculars while using your senses to experience the Gardens through a new lens. Recommended for adults and children.

Spring in our Gardens isn’t rendered. It’s real. And it’s our kind of AI: Always Incredible.

Every bud, bloom, and birdsong is nature-generated, crafted by sunshine and soil … not software. Color pops, leaves unfurl, and the whole landscape awakens with fresh, authentic, undeniable energy. Early spring bulbs bring the season to life, followed by flowering trees bursting into bloom. Fragrance drifts on the breeze. Radiant tulips stretch towards the sky.

Imagination Street a new play space that kids and parents can enjoy together. For kids (ages 0–9), it is a meaningful, hands-on play experience in nine, interactive, themed playhouses that form a “city” to explore. For parents, there’s a cafe-style lounge to gather, drink coffee, or get some work done. Because the space is an open concept, parents are in close proximity of their children the entire time. They offer open play sessions, private parties, events, and more.

Burn off some energy while having some fun while skating with the family.

Alas, Pinkalicious needs a way out of her pink predicament, and joined by her family, they find unity and appreciation in the quirks that define us all.
