The Fresh Beat Band, Nickelodeon’s preschool music group and stars of the Emmy Award-winning TV series of the same name, head back on the road for a brand-new nationwide concert tour Nov. 5–Feb. 15. The Fresh Beat Band Greatest Hits Live presented by Nickelodeon will travel to nearly 40 cities including New York, Los Angeles, Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Detroit and more. The show will feature Kiki, Marina, Twist and Shout performing the band’s greatest hits including “Bananas,” “Here We Go” and a remixed version of “Great Day,” plus new songs including the pop classic, “Walk Like An Egyptian.”

“The Fresh Beat Band is back on the road to give kids a chance to see their favorite rock stars live in concert,” says Doug Cohn, SVP, Music, Nickelodeon. “This reimagined, high-energy production features the band’s biggest hits, never-before-performed songs, and fun surprises that will deliver an unforgettable experience for families.”

This award-winning program is a Delaware Valley institution and earns rave reviews from critics, parents, teachers, and children alike. Michael Kropp (or “Mr. Mike” as the kids know him) manages Makin’ Music Gilbertsville. A local hit with his own classes, appearances at pre-schools, daycares, libraries, and other public events, Michael always puts on an upbeat show that combines a mix of traditional children’s favorites and easy-to-follow Makin’ Music original songs. Makin’ Music is thrilled to bring their show to the Colonial’s historic stage.

WXPN to Host Kids Corner Music Festival
Award-Winning Kids Radio Program Hosts an Afternoon of Great Kids Music and Activities at Philly’s Newest Music Hall, Union Transfer


Kids and parents should get ready for a silly, wiggly and giggly afternoon filled with music and fun activities for the whole family! WXPN (http://xpn.org), the nationally-recognized leader in Triple A (Adult Album Alternative) music and home of the Peabody award-winning Kids Corner radio show, today announced that it will host the next Kids Corner Music Festival on Saturday, March 10 at Union Transfer located at 1026 Spring Garden Street, Philadelphia, Pa.

Kids Corner Music Festival attendees will enjoy performances by the newest musical talent for kids and their parents. On top of the great live music, there will be free make and take craft stations courtesy of The Arden Theatre and The Philadelphia International Children’s Festival. There will also be creative balloon sculptures for free in the lobby provided by Kids Corner and WXPN. Doors open at 10:30 a.m. with live musical performances beginning at 11 a.m.

“Don’t miss out, we’re going to inspire kids of all ages to dance, sing and laugh at the Kids Corner Music Festival,” said Kathy O’Connell,Kids Corner host. “It’s going to be a lot of fun and we’ll jump, wiggle and shake to our wonderful musical guests Rolie Polie Guacamole, The Fuzzy Lemons and Roy Handy & The Moonshot!”

Tickets are just $8 each and can be purchased online or by phone at 215-898-WXPN (9976).
