Peanut Butter and Jams welcomes Ben Rudnick and Friends!

October 20, 2012
at 11:30am

Join us for Peanut Butter and Jams at World Cafe Live at the Queen as we welcome Ben Rudnick and Friends!

Ben Rudnick and Friends have been bringing families, music and fun together in their own unique style from their first release, Emily Songs, in 2000 to their recent A Frog Named Sam.

Boasting a high level of adventurous musicianship, their enthusiastic recordings and live performances seamlessly range from light folk, bluegrass, calypso, rock and even Irish Jigs.

With countless kudos to their credit, including five Parents’ Choice Awards, the band considers it’s main focus to be providing a common ground where all family members can, without compromise, enjoy a shared musical experience. This is best exemplified in their live shows. Performances big and small tend to be events, a slice of time where families relax and enjoy each other’s company.

Drawing on the original songs and traditional material from their recordings, the band seamlessly integrates classic songs such as "Route 66," "Oh Boy!," "Jambalaya/Hey Good Looking," "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" and Beatles' tunes into their sets.

WCU Presents Tim & the Space Cadets

Tim the Space Cadets
Saturday, November 5, 2011 - 2:00 pm.

Brooklyn-based Tim & the Space Cadets play songs about the important things in life: pizza parties, snow days, and summer vacations. Songwriters Tim Kubart and Matt Puckett weave their own childhood memories through textured pop tunes, rockers, and lullabird, including their XMKiDs chart-topping single "Superhero." They're currently hard at work recording "Anthems for Adventure," their first full-length album, about adventures as grand as riding a cardboard rocketship to space and as small as giving up old sneakers for new ones. A Space Cadets set is engaging, interacting, and totally awesome- a true indie rock experience for families and fans.

DISNEY'S IMAGINATION MOVERS' "IN A BIG WAREHOUSE" CONCERT TOUR

DISNEY'S IMAGINATION MOVERS' "IN A BIG WAREHOUSE" CONCERT TOUR
at the Tower Theater
on
Sunday, April 10, 2011 at 1:30 PM
&
Sunday, April 10, 2011 at 4:30 PM

The wildly popular New Orleans-based rock band for kids of all ages will travel to the Tower Theater in Upper Darby on April 10th. They will be playing their most popular songs and bringing the magic of the Imagination Movers television series' Idea Warehouse to life. Concert goers can expect special appearances from Nina, Warehouse Mouse and other characters from the TV series.

“Nothing beats the excitement of playing live rock n roll with the help of thousands of great fans,” says Rich Collins (aka Mover Rich). “We encourage our audience to be an essential part of the show by singing, clapping, shouting, dancing and generally letting the energy of a real rock concert lift their spirits. Everybody needs a nap after one of our gigs. Including the grownups – and especially us!”

Since signing to Walt Disney Records, the Imagination Movers have sold more than 100,000 albums, received multiple awards and earned critical praise from the Associated Press, Entertainment Weekly and many other media outlets. Their newest release, In a Big Warehouse, the soundtrack for the second season of the television series, hit the charts this fall, debuting at #2 on Billboard’s Top New Artist Albums chart and bowing at #3 on Billboard’s Children’s Chart.

In addition, the Movers have recently shared their story and music with viewers across the nation appearing on The View, Live with Regis & Kelly and Good Morning America. Their unique brand of smart, high-energy pop was described in the New York Times as “prized by many parents for non-condescending lyrics and music that evokes the Beastie Boys or Red Hot Chili Peppers.”

The Imagination Movers television series, which features the blue-suited band as brainstormers working hard to solve “Idea Emergencies” in their Idea Warehouse, is a hit with audiences around the world, airing in over 55 countries/territories and in 12 languages since September 2008. The Movers are currently filming the third season of the series and recently filmed a concert in their hometown of New Orleans with some very special guests. Season three of the series and the concert special will air in 2011. Imagination Movers airs daily during Disney Channel's Playhouse Disney programming block for preschoolers (rebranded Disney Junior in early 2011).

The Imagination Movers are Collins, a former journalist and father of five; Scott Durbin, a teacher and father of two; Dave Poche, an architect and father of two; and Scott "Smitty" Smith, a New Orleans firefighter who was part of the Hurricane Katrina search and rescue effort.
