Fun Things Top Ten Weekend Events

Our top 10 picks for this weekend August 5th


Friday
1. Ride the rides, eat some cotton candy and have some family fun at the Goshen Fair (the fair runs until 8/6)

2. Head to Oxford for some family fun during First Friday decorate cupcakes, read to dogs and many more kids friendly events. 

3. Head to the Adventure Aquarium and stay until 8pm (they are open late on Friday, Saturday & Sunday). Shark Week is going on now until August 7th.  

Saturday

4. Head to Barnes and Noble for Children's Story time at 11am.  

5. Make some pom pom monsters at AC Moore on Saturday afternoon

6. Make a school pencil box at Home Depot on Saturday morning

Narberth Dickens Festival




The Narberth Dickens Festival is a free family event held from Noon to 4pm, Saturday December 11, in downtown Narberth. It includes a scavenger hunt where children race to find all the Dickens characters to win a prize, street musicians, Victorian carolers and performers, dance performances, puppet shows, horse and carriage rides, and much more. Period-appropriate vendors help set the tone, and the local establishments each offer their own version of a “hot toddy” to keep grown-ups warm. The scavenger hunts goes from 1pm to 3pm or while supplies last. This year also features several free performances, including A Muppet Christmas carol at the Marbertn Theater, puppet shows, Nutcracker dance excerpts, and more!
The 2010 Narberth Dickens Festival includes:

· Ebeneezer Scrooge and all the characters from “A Christmas Carol”

· dozens of period-authentic costumed performers

· a free scavenger hunt & free prize for kids - 1pm to 3pm or while supplies last

· horse and carriage rides through the Narberth streets

· professional musicians

· authentic Victorian carolers

This heartwarming attraction includes a delightful ride on one of their sound equipped hay wagons, through the rolling hills of Arasapha Farm, which has been transformed into a winter wonderland filled with huge light displays, decorated trees and buildings, bridges and brooks. Come face to face with real, live Reindeer and see a beautifully animated Santa’s workshop. The hayride last about 20 minutes and is choreographed with all the favorite songs of the season. After the hay ride, relax by our bonfires or warm up with a cup of cocoa. This all new holiday hayride is perfect for all ages. Have your picture taken with Santa, and get an up close look at our famous live nativity scene that features real animals and actors.
