Darlington Arts Center

Fall Classes start September 6th at Darlington Arts Center

Darlington Arts Center in is now accepting registrations for Fall and Academic-Year programs in Music, Visual Art, Dance, and Drama for children and adults. Learn the skills of an artist in a positive and encouraging environment. Classes and lessons start Saturday, September 6th. Download a catalog online at www.darlingtonarts.org or call (610) 358-3632 for more information.

Private music lessons are available in all instruments and styles: piano, violin, guitar, voice, brass, woodwinds, and more. Through individual weekly instruction, students gain technical expertise, learn music,  and experience personal growth. Students can gain performing experience at recitals each month and take a discounted music theory class for only $30. Parents love the combination of highly skilled teaching artists paired with a low-key atmosphere that allow children to relax and have fun!

Visual artists learn fundamental skills of drawing, painting, clay, and more, while expanding creativity and having fun. Small class sizes allow for individual attention, “This is not a big commercial center,” writes one parent, “The focus is squarely on the students and their arts experience.” Students can participate in Darlington’s Student & Teaching Artist Gallery exhibition twice a year, and attend free professional art galleries each month.

Darlington’s dance program offers classes in ballet, tap, hip-hop, jazz, and contemporary for ages preschool to adult. Classes culminate in June with a recital, and students experience remarkable personal growth during the year: “My daughter sees the value of attention to detail, personal effort, dedication, and the beauty of dance because of Darlington’s high standards and excellent teaching artists.”

Imagination and creativity take center stage in Darlington’s drama program. Classes focus on the process of acting or musical theater and students perform at the end of each semester. “I was so impressed at how the teacher inspired my daughter to create her own character,” wrote one parent, “Her confidence has grown tremendously this year.”

The center also offers one-day workshops for children and adults (including all-day workshops when kids have off from school) and hosts Coffee House Concerts with local musicians each month. Darlington Arts Center is located at 977 Shavertown Rd, Garnet Valley, PA 19060 and is convenient to Chester County, Delaware County, and New Castle County.
