What to do this weekend with your family? There is a wealth of activities available for families and kids. We invite you to explore our events calendar, featuring a range of family-friendly activities and events to enjoy throughout the week, including weekends. We continually update our events calendar, so there's always something new and exciting to do!



Join Caln Township Parks & Recreation this Saturday for a showing of National Treasure! The movie will begin at 8:30 PM, but we will be doing a fun, create your own  Treasure Hunt beforehand at 7:30 PM.





You can watch Zootopia 2 Movie at Oxford Memorial Park. Previews begin at 8:30 p.m., and movies begin at dusk. Please bring your own blanket and chair.  



The annual Malvern Fire Company Fair is coming to town from Tuesday, July 14th to Saturday, July 18th at the Paoli Memorial Grounds & Malvern Memorial Park. The fair runs each evening from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM, with ample parking available by donation to the fire company at the fairgrounds. All the attractions you know and love will be back this year, including fire truck rides!! Fireworks will be on Friday evening at approximately 9:30 PM, with a rain date of Saturday evening. Advanced ticket sales are available via the Houghton Enterprises website.



The Friends of Springton Manor presents an Ice Cream Social. This is a family friendly event with wagon rides, photo booths, live music, and much more.




Excavations are conducted under the leadership of resident archaeologist Keith Doms with assistance from members of the Society for Pennsylvania Archaeology and volunteers from the community. Individuals and groups throughout the region volunteer one Saturday per month, assisting with excavations and artifact cleaning.


Our regularly scheduled weekly train. Enjoy a relaxing 90 minute train ride from West Chester to Glen Mills and return. Pack a lunch to have during our stop at the Glen Mills train station picnic grove where you can explore our picnic area, our 1880s station building, or the Red Brick Winery.



Discover the sights, sounds, and scents of the season with a fun, 30-minute nature walk designed for the whole family.

Explore nature near and far with tools like magnifying glasses and binoculars while using your senses to experience the Gardens through a new lens. Recommended for adults and children.




Imagination Street a new play space that kids and parents can enjoy together. For kids (ages 0–9), it is a meaningful, hands-on play experience in nine, interactive, themed playhouses that form a “city” to explore. For parents, there’s a cafe-style lounge to gather, drink coffee, or get some work done. Because the space is an open concept, parents are in close proximity of their children the entire time. They offer open play sessions, private parties, events, and more.




Burn off some energy while having some fun while skating with the family.

Just keep swimming with Caln Township Parks & Recreation this Friday for a showing of Finding Nemo! The movie will begin at 8:30 PM, but we will be doing a fun, create your own fish craft activity beforehand at 7:30 PM.



You can watch The Super Mario Bros Movie at Oxford Memorial Park. Previews begin at 8:30 p.m., and movies begin at dusk. Please bring your own blanket and chair.

Spy Day at the Chester County History Center will give children the opportunity to learn to read and write in cipher and code, discover hidden messages in everyday objects, explore the science behind invisible ink, and develop their own secret identity. They'll also learn about real spies who operated in the area during the 18th century and beyond. Space will be limited to provide the best atmosphere for our participants.

The Archaeology Program seeks to evaluate archaeological resources and explore research questions concerning the development of the Newlin Grist Mill historic site while enhancing public knowledge and providing opportunities for the public to participate in the archaeological process.
Excavations are conducted under the leadership of resident archaeologist Keith Doms with assistance from members of the Society for Pennsylvania Archaeology and volunteers from the community. Individuals and groups throughout the region volunteer one Saturday per month to assist with excavations and artifact cleaning. The project is bringing to light new evidence that reshapes earlier perceptions.

Join us as we demonstrate and explore historic cooking and foodways! We’ll be using the recently restored 1739 Trimble House Kitchen, as well as the reconstructed Bake Oven behind the Miller’s House, to experiment with a variety of ingredients, techniques, and “receipts” (recipes).

Each program will have a different theme – this season, we’re exploring topics related to the ongoing archaeological excavations around the Trimble House complex in coordination with our Public Archaeology program!

Visit the Bunny in Upper-Level North Court to capture your spring family memories.



Don’t miss Elmo’s Eggstravaganza – our exciting Easter Celebration on select dates in 2024! Guests can visit Sesame Place Philadelphia for a hoppin’ good time with exciting rides, entertaining shows, the Sesame Street Party Parade, and special Easter fun with everyone’s favorite furry friends.


The newness and beauty of spring beckon throughout our Gardens this season. It’s our first with our stunning Bonsai Courtyard, gorgeous new outdoor landscapes, and redesigned Idea Garden … making this a season of fresh beginnings like never before.

New is in bloom.



This spring, Peddler’s Village presents the 6th Annual PEEPS® in the Village, on display from Friday, March 24 through Sunday, April 27. The colorful display will include more than 90 creations of wall art, dioramas, and sculpture, featuring the popular Pennsylvania-made bunnies and chicks, and carefully handmade and contributed by Philly-area residents and organizations. Admission to the display is free. Guests are invited to vote for their favorite entries. Housed in the new Visitor & Event Center, located off Street Road and Peddler’s Lane.



Explore paleontology’s final frontier in Ice Dinosaurs, the Academy’s exciting new special exhibit. Transport yourself to the Late Cretaceous period in the Arctic Circle, where dinosaurs actually lived year-round in extreme polar environments. This brand-new, immersive, and educational experience brings this era to life with animatronic dinosaurs, engaging stories, and real fossils, skeletons, and museum casts.
