What to do this weekend with your family? Here is a list of things you can enjoy with your family this weekend. There is so much to do for families and kids, especially now that most venues are open and happy to welcome you back.

Join us for our annual Fun Fair on Saturday, April 30th from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm. Held on our school grounds, Fairville's Fun Fair is especially great for families with toddlers, preschoolers, and young children. Enjoy pony rides, moon bounces, and cookie decorating. Dig for treasures in a giant sandpit, engage in age-appropriate arts and crafts, even climb aboard a tractor! The Fun Fair also offers live entertainment. Delicious, healthy lunch fare will be available for purchase. 

The Fair is open to the public with no entrance fee; modestly priced tickets are available to participate in the activities of your choice. In case of rain, the Fair will be held on May 1st at the same time and location.



The Museum will be open from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with free admission* to the galleries.   
In addition to free admission, creative art activities* will be offered from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. with storytelling performances at 11 and 11:45 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Come to Brandywine for a day of animal-themed adventures! Discover artwork inside and outside the Museum featuring dogs, peacocks, horses, cows and everyone’s favorite painting, Portrait of Pig, make colorful animal-inspired masks and puppets and join in a dynamic performance of animal tales with TAHIRA.   

TAHIRA is a storyteller and musician known for her performances of both original work and stories from the African oral tradition.

Join Thomas the Tank Engine™, a full-sized operating steam locomotive, as he greets friends of all ages. Thomas and his friends return to the Strasburg Rail Road April 29 – May 2, 2022.

Thomas the Tank Engine — the famous steam locomotive from the Island of Sodor — will pull your 45-minute excursion ride (4.5 miles east and 4.5 miles returning west on the same track) through the beautiful Lancaster County countryside.



Moana’s adventures come to life onstage! Disney’s Moana JR. is a new 60-minute musical adaptation of the hit Disney animated film, with music and lyrics co-written by Hamilton’s Lin-Manuel Miranda. Featuring all the beloved songs from the film, Moana’s uplifting story will have you cheering as she embarks on an epic journey of self-discovery and learns to harness the power that lies within. With empowering messages of bravery and selflessness, Moana JR. is sure to bring out the hero within each of us.



Now one of the most performed shows in America, Seussical is a fantastical, magical, musical extravaganza! Tony winners have lovingly brought to life all of our favorite Dr. Seuss characters, including Horton the Elephant, The Cat in the Hat, Gertrude McFuzz, lazy Mayzie and a little boy with a big imagination – Jojo. The colorful characters transport us from the Jungle of Nool to the Circus McGurkus to the invisible world of the Whos. Seussical is perfect for the whole family!

Beginning April 23, our Open Air Theatre and Italian Water Garden fountains spring to life, as do our Square Fountain, Round Fountain (Flower Garden Walk), Sylvan Fountain (Peirce’s Park), and Children’s Corner fountains … bringing with them the refreshing sounds and sights of water in our Gardens. 


 
Elmo’s Springtacular at Sesame Place is filled with furry fun and exciting events! Join in on the fun with an exciting lineup of meet & greets, music, magic, pirate adventures, and fireworks. April 23- June 19



Guests to the Philadelphia Museum of Art can pay what they wish for admission every Friday evening and the first Sunday of the month. Reservations are required.
