What to do this weekend with your family? Here is a list of things you can enjoy with your family this weekend. There is so much to do for families and kids, especially now that most venues are open and happy to welcome you back. 


The 36th Annual Mushroom Festival will be held Saturday, September 11 & Sunday, September 12, 2021. The theme of the 2021 festival is Rooted in the Community as a way to celebrate the Kennett Square mushroom industry and the surrounding community.



The 14th Annual Chester County Balloon Festival will be held on September 10th, 11th, and 12th, 2021 at a NEW VENUE! We will be located at the Willowdale Steeplechase on 101 East Street Road, Kennett Square, PA 19348. This venue will provide, grassy areas for spectator viewing, a new tailgating area, and easy access.
Mark your calendars now! The Chester County Balloon Festival is the must-attend event of the year! Filled with activities on–the-ground and in-the-air, the festival provides family fun for all ages. 100+ Vendors, Live Bands, Balloons & Glows, Kid's Activities, and much more!



West Goshen Community Park turns 25 this September!  To celebrate this milestone, the West Goshen Park and Recreation Department will host a celebration at Community Park on Sunday, September 12th between 1:00 and 5:00 PM.  The day promises fun for the whole family with a giant inflatable slide, moonbounce, and obstacle course, enjoy craft projects, take a ride on a pony and check out a petting zoo. Festivities conclude at 3:00 PM with a FREE concert by The Greaseband.  



Over 100 spectacular scarecrows line the autumn-tinted pathways of Peddler’s Village during our 42nd annual Scarecrows in the Village, on display from September 6 through October 30! For eight fun-filled weeks, view and vote for your favorite larger-than-life creations in this Bucks County tradition. Some scarecrows are inspired by famous characters, some are humorous, some are scary – but all of them are carefully handmade by Philly-area residents and organizations.

Enjoy fun fall activities, including our annual Scarecrow-Making Workshops (reserve your spot online) and pumpkin painting, live entertainment every weekend, and delicious fall-inspired specials at Village restaurants.



The DCM's “$5 After 5pm” feature special extended hours until 8pm, unique programming, and discounted pricing for guests visiting after 5pm. Thursdays and Fridays will never be the same!



The CFHS is excited to announce that on Saturday, September 11, 2021, we will be hosting a battle reenactment. Join us for a historical journey back to September 11th, 1777 when the British army engaged Washington's troops at Chads' Ford.  Two timed skirmishes and a firing demo will take place throughout the day.  Additionally, reenactors, camp followers, demonstrators, and other historians will be on-site for all to engage with.  Live music, food, and beverages will be available.

Join the fun at The Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire  The Renaissance fair occurring over 13 weekends from early August through late October on the grounds of the Mount Hope Estate and Winery in Manheim, Pennsylvania. 



Visit the whimsical world of Mo Willems and his cast of lovable characters, including best friend duo Elephant and Piggie, faithful companion Knuffle Bunny and The Pigeon, the wily city bird best known for his antics in Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus!

Activities in the exhibition will give children the opportunity to make art that is inspired by Mo Willems and to learn about the social and emotional lives of the author’s popular characters.



Enjoy a relaxing 90-minute train ride from West Chester to Glen Mills and return on a warm summer afternoon. Pack a lunch to have during our stop at the Glen Mills train station picnic grove.



Come sail with us! Kalmar Nyckel offers river cruises, day sails, and appearances from May through October in 2021. Sails are limited to 25 passengers, and reservations are required.
