Read-Aloud Tours for Children at Brandywine River Museum

Thursdays, October 11 through November 15 from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.


  


Introduce children to the museum through special programs at the Brandywine River Museum.   

Each week features a different story and art activity. Children may participate in one or all of these tours, designed  for children ages 3 to 6 accompanied by an adult.  

October 11 - Noodle by Munro Leaf, illustrations by Ludwig Bemelmans

October 18 - Legend of the Indian Paintbrush retold by Tomie dePaola

October 25 - Too Many Pumpkins by Linda White

November 1 - The Gift of the Tree by Alvin Tresselt, illustrated by Henri Sorensen

November 8 - The Little Red Hen by Jerry Pinkney

November 15 - Balloons over Broadway by Melissa Sweet
  
Workshops are free for members and children under age 6, and are included with Museum admission ($12, adults; $8, seniors; $6, students, and children ages 6 to 12).  To register, please contact the education office at 610-388-8382 or education@brandywine.org. When leaving a message, callers are asked to include program date(s), their name, phone number and the number of children and adults attending.

Exhibiting American art in a 19th-century grist mill, the Brandywine River Museum is internationally known for its unparalleled collection of works by three generations of Wyeths and its fine collection of American illustration, still life and landscape painting.  

The Brandywine River Museum is located on U.S. Route 1 in Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania. The museum is open daily, 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., except for Christmas Day.
