Monroe wanders into a seemingly abandoned factory and accidentally trips a lever that activates the factory “machinery,” an assembly line of seven actors who create fabulous fables. Mr. Aloysius A. Aesop, the owner, says a missing part had made the factory idle for 2,000 years. Monroe meets the “machinery:” Story Starter, Plot Plotter, Word Worker, and Grammar Guardian. The stories become fables when Monroe surprises everyone by supplying the morals. The troupe then performs some of the best of Aesop’s fables.
